RWA Case Studies
..........................................................................................................................................................

Going Places is one of the UK’s largest travel retail chains and employs 4,500 people in over 730 shops throughout Great Britain.

These case studies provide examples of the work that RWA has undertaken for Going Places. They also demonstrate the real business benefit that we deliver.

 Going Places Matchmaker Components

Between February 1997 and December 1999 Going Places developed and rolled out a multi-million pound upgrade project called ‘Matchmaker’ to their 730 UK shops. This required the complete renewal of each shop’s IT hardware, software and network infrastructure. RWA played a key role in this project and provided software solutions that were specifically related to the telecommunications aspects of the Matchmaker project.

 Going Places Foreign Exchange System

In May 2001 Going Places launched a new foreign currency exchange (FX) system within their shops across the UK. RWA had worked with GP on a number of applications, communications and infrastructure projects, we were asked to look at the suitability of the Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) technology not only to provide a reliable communications infrastructure for the solution but also to analyse the risk of integrating another MSMQ application into the GP Frame Relay Network.
