Every year World Travel Awards Fever hits the travel industry community around the world, building to the crescendo of the annual Awards Presentation, when tens of thousands of travel professionals cast their favorites on the web and glue themselves to official World Travel Awards web site to learn who will receive the highest accolade this year.
In this years Travel Technology catagory RWA has been nominated for the 'World's leading Internet Booking Engine Technology Provider'. The 10th World Travel Awards is being held on October 13, 2003 at The Plaza hotel, the crown jewel of Manhattan's fabled Fifth Avenue in New York.

Cosmos Holidays has recently provided an overbranded version of their Somewhere2stay.com web site to Global Holidays. This shows the white labelling functionality of Sell-It Online which allows Tour Operators to create agency overbranded versions of their Sell-It powered web sites in a matter of days.

Monarch is now providing an accommodation link on their web site which takes the client to an overbranded version of the Somewhere2stay.com web site. This shows the flexibilty and white labelling capabilites of Sell-It Online allowing agency clients access to somewhere2stay’s inventory of over 500 hotels and self-catering apartments.

The April edition of ABTA magazine published a review of Cosmos’ somewhere2stay.com web site. The site was awarded 5 stars with a verdict:

Cosmos is using Sell-It Suite’s ‘white labelling’ capabilities to provide a number of travel agencies with their own branded versions of the somewhere2stay.com web site. The branded versions will be hosted by Cosmos as part of their current Sell-It Online installation.

Cosmos, the UK’s largest independent Tour Operator has signed a deal with RWA to upgrade their current somewhere2stay.com web site. The site will undergo a ‘upgrade’ with the addition of new pages and additional industry-leading functionality utilising the power of RWA’s underlying Sell-It Services infrastructure.

has been shortlisted in the Tour Operator web site catagory of Travelmole's Travel and Tourism Web Awards. It is the the first ever awards event to recognise 'Excellence in Trade Use of the Internet'.

Somewhere2stay was shortlisted from 48 other nominations. A presentation will be made on Wednesday 26 March at the Central Features Area of The British Travel Trade Fair in Birmingham. More information on the web awards can be found on the Travelmole web site.

Travel Technology Inititive The Travel Technology Initiative (TTI) Spring Conference will take place in London on the 8th April. The conference is entitled “Online meets Traditional”

January 27th 2003 RWA Has Achieved The Investors In People National Standard


The Investors in People Standard is based on four key principles:

  • Commitment to invest in people to achieve business goals
  • Planning how skills, individuals and teams are to be developed to achieve these goals
  • Action to develop and use necessary skills in a well defined and continuing programme directly tied to business objectives
  • Evaluating outcomes of training and development for individuals' progress towards goals, the value achieved and future needs.

The IIP assessor commented...."Training and development is seen as vital not only to be at the forefront of technology, but also to deliver cost effective IT solutions to its customers. The organisation benefits from a highly capable and well trained team and there are well defined HR and training policies and practices to support this."

 

January 15th 2003 Mark Bradbury From RWA Has Been Elected As One Of The 7 Founder Board Members Of Toward Europe.


An inaugural TOWARD Europe meeting was held on November 14th 2002 and was attended by senior personnel representing 60 companies (Tour Operators, Suppliers and Technology Companies) from 7 countries. The meeting agreed that TOWARD Europe should focus on working together on common goals to create industry-wide distribution solutions, and facilitate the development of new business models to drive forward distribution in the travel industry. It was also agreed that TOWARD should work alongside existing standards authorities such as TTI and ACRISS.

A subsequent meeting was held on the 16th December 2002. At this meeting the TOWARD Board members were elected. Mark Bradbury from RWA has been elected as one of the 7 founder Board Members.

TOWARD was founded in the USA in 2000 to advance the pace of electronic distribution in the tour operating industry. The success of the North American association and the similar challenges faced by tour operators in Europe have prompted TOWARD to extend the organisation's activities into Europe.
