Sell-It Online supports the new TOPAS and TORIX standards

RWA is pleased to announce that Sell-It Online supports the new TOPAS and TORIX standards. This enables Tour Operator’s to benefit from the power and reliability of Sell-It Online’s Internet browsing and booking capabilities working in conjunction with their current reservation system.

Sell-It Online's product cache can be populated with price and availability information contained in one or more TOPAS data feeds. These feeds can be received and processed however frequently they are produced by the Tour Operator's reservation system. The feeds may be full season bulk availability or 'lates' updates, updated throughout the day.

The TOPAS feeds do not typically contain all the information necessary to provide the web site visitor and potential booker with a compelling and informative browsing and booking experience. For example, TOPAS data feeds do not typically contain child prices, nor information on supplement availability and prices.

RWA has, therefore, developed an "enrichment engine" which is able to combine the price and availability information in a TOPAS file with additional information provided by the Tour Operator via other means. The enrichment engine then "blends" this information together to build a browsable and bookable product cache using "enrichment rules" developed by RWA in discussion with the Tour Operator. Information that can be blended includes:

Torix and Topaz integration with Sell-It Online

Child prices
Supplement availability and prices
Brochure content e.g. country, region, resort and hotel images, hotel features
Resort locations within regions and countries
Grouping of departure airports within regions
Assignment of individual holidays into one or more 'marketing types' such as 'Ski', 'Family Friendly' and so on, based on criteria specified by the Tour Operator.

Once a web site visitor has found an available holiday product that they wish to book, Sell-It Online can use the TORIX interface to confirm the availability and price in the Tour Operator's reservation system and then make a confirmed booking. At this point the customer can also view and select appropriate extras via TORIX e.g. ski hire, kids clubs, excursions. The TORIX interface is then used put the confirmed booking back into the reservation system for subsequent fulfilment via the Tour Operator's usual fulfilment process.
