Holiday Tours’ cyber model drives efficiency to trap lost business
Holiday Tours has embarked on an education drive to boost sales and agent productivity through its new ‘cyber wholesaler’ model. Agents are directed to the same web interface as consumers but agent-specific functionality is accessible to those who register through a prompted login feature. Although tailor-made itineraries for travel to certain long-haul destinations are not supported – they can still be done through the traditional channels – the system is merchandising at its best.
“It is a first in South Africa…every part of the process in terms of using a tour operator has been preserved. It is a fully-functional travel agent facility and agents can quote and book without having to interact with a call centre“, said Otto de Vries, Director of Holiday Tours and Travel Operations Manager for Comair’s Travel Division.
